Gravure Idol & Actress Saaya Irie Becomes Biohazard (Resident Evil) Ambassador

Bikini idol becomes game ambassador September 2011 – March 2012.

During the four-day Tokyo Game Show 2011 event, which started on Thursday 15th September, it was announced that actress, singer and bikini idol Saaya [Irie] had been chosen to be the ambassador for the hugely successful video game franchise Biohazard (aka Resident Evil) from September 2011 until March 2012. She appeared at the event in cosplay as Special Operations Agent (SOA) of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, Jill Valentine. She told DJ, “Jill Valentine is very tall with a quiet sense of self-possession, which is much different from me; I’m talkative and funny.”

So why was she was chosen as the game’s ambassador? She answered, “Mr. Kobayashi, who is producer of Bio Hazard Series, knows I love to play Bio Hazard and offered me the chance to be ambassador, and thus, I did not have to audition.”

The overall response to the former member of pop group Sweet Kiss as ambassador has been postive. “My fans and those of the game know I love to play Biohazard” she told us, “so they agreed that I should be the ambassador of this game.”

On Club96 website, Capcom have set up Saaya’s Special Page which contains her recent activities. This page was opened at the same time Tokyo Game Show 2011 took place. Saaya posts her own Biohazard Diary, and Special Wallpapers are released to download. “Please join this club.” Says Saaya who is very absorbed in PR. Her other duties include MC or special guest at Biohazard related events.

The adorable idol is best known to her fans as a bikini model who has appeared in over ten idol DVDs and numerous photo books and magazines. Saaya’s position as Biohazard ambassador will certainly raise her profile further and will undoubetedly win her a whole legion of new adoring fans. Join her on her Official Facebook Fan Page.

2011 celebrates the 15th Anniversary of Biohazard. Here are just some of the merchandise that has been or will be produced to tie-in with the celebration.

Biohazard Comic will be sold from Feb 2012

From 2012 Feb, Weekly Shonen Champion will start to serialize Bio Hazard. The title of comic is “Biohazard marhawa desire”. Naoki Serizawa, who is famous for “Right of Lucifer” and “Monkey Lock (a.k.a Saru Lock) “ will take charge of this comic.

“CAPBON(CAP BOOK) Vol.1” includes “Biohazard marhawa desire Episode 0”.

Biohazard 15^th Anniversary Memorial Book

This book includes interview of game development team, material of setting and so on. In addition, they collaborate with “BEAMS T” which is famouse fashion brand in the world to create original T-shirts. This T-shirts will be sold with this Memorial Book will be published on the 20^th September 2011, it costs 5,250yen (inc Tax).

Biohazard Apparel Goods Information

Online store, E-CAPCOM announced that Biohazard and “Briefing Bag’s” collaborate bags will be sold. At the moment, they have not uploaded any actual images, however they will do when they get exact detail. Not only this, Biohazard will collaborate with some apparel brands that produce T-shirts, some replicated jackets such as N-3B, MA-1, denim, caps and smart phone cases from October 2011 until next year.
