On Saturday 1st February, master Shamisen player Hibiki Ichikawa will hold his first student concert, featuring more than ten pupils and will conclude with a special demonstration of Japanese traditional music.

Guest musicians include Enka/Folk singer Akari Mochizuki, percussionist Tomoya Nose and guitarist Yuma Imaoka.
It promises to be an exhilarating evening of music and song.
If you have an interest in the culture of Japan then you won’t want to miss out on seeing a rousing performance by some of the UK’s finest Japanese musicians and the chance to hear and enjoy the authentic sound of Tsugaru Shamisen.

About Hibiki Ichikawa
Hibiki Ichikawa is the only professional Tsugaru Shamisen (Japanese banjo/guitar) player in UK and has performed in major Japanese culture events such as Japan Matsuri and HYPER JAPAN. He’s also an experienced lecturer and private tutor of the Tsugaru Shamisen and has been teaching around 20 students constantly for several years.
